Does my text leave this device?
No document or pasted text is uploaded by Scrub. Processing runs locally in a worker. License activation contacts Lemon Squeezy with license information only. Copying into an AI is a separate action you control.
Where is my mapping stored?
In memory by default. With Pro, you can choose to keep up to ten mappings in this browser or export a private JSON file. Those mappings contain the original values. Clear everything removes this site's saved data.
Does this satisfy ABA Opinion 512 or GDPR?
Neither a tool nor a successful scan guarantees compliance. ABA Formal Opinion 512 discusses competence and confidentiality when using generative AI; GDPR Article 32 calls for appropriate security measures. Your obligations depend on the facts and your jurisdiction. Review the data and your organisation's rules. Scrub does not provide legal advice.
Can I restore an edited AI answer?
Yes, if its placeholders are unchanged and you have the matching mapping. Unknown or altered placeholders remain unchanged. You still need to review the answer's meaning and accuracy.
What files work?
TXT and Markdown are free. Pro adds CSV and DOCX. DOCX preserves untouched text formatting and other file parts, which means uninspected metadata and embedded content may remain. PDF, XLSX and images are outside this version.
